I'm not a monster says Spitzer scandal girl girl

NEW YORK: The identity of the high-priced prostitute at the centre of the Eliot Spitzer sex scandal emerged yesterday after the embattled crime-busting New York state governor declared that he would resign.
The brunette - identified in federal court papers as “Kristen,” a call girl for the Emperors Club VIP agency - was revealed to be Ashley Alexandra Dupre, 22, the New York Times reported and who Spitzer arranged to have brought from New York to Washington for $4,300 (BD1,600) for about two hours.
“I just don’t want to be thought of as a monster,” Dupre, an aspiring R’&’B singer from a broken home in New Jersey, was quoted as telling the newspaper.
In a stunning fall from grace, Spitzer, 48, announced he would resign effective Monday amid revelations that he had arranged through a prostitution ring to meet an escort on February 13 at a Washington hotel.
Lieutenant Governor David Paterson, 53, will take over on Monday to become the state’s first black governor and the first blind governor in US history.
Spitzer’s resignation came as more details emerged of his use of prostitutes, with the New York Post saying he had spent up to $80,000 (BD30,000)on call girls going back 10 years to his time as New York state attorney general.

Michelle Malkin Ravages Obama and Clinton on FOX's America's …

Michelle Malkin and Kirsten Powers, no longer a featured act on The O’Reilly Factor, are now doing their routine on America’s Election HQ with Bill Hemmer and Megyn Kelly. Today, 10/13/08, the hot topics were the comments of Barack Obama’s Pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and Hillary Clinton’s apologies for comments made by Bill and Geraldine Ferraro.
Kirsten Powers thought the apologies were sincere and said the only one that required an apology was Bill Clinton’s Jesse Jackson remark. Powers claimed Hillary Clinton is concerned about the polarization of the party and really cares.
Malkin was her usually nasty self claiming it was ” all pandering” and ” her husband forced her” to apologize adding that Hillary was “insincere” because she claimed that Ferraro wasn’t a big part of the finance commitee.
Then it was Obama’s turn and Malkin went to town. She said Rev. Wright wasn’t a “passing” acquaintance calling him Obama’s ” spiritual guru” adding that Obama goes to Wright for “spiritual approval” of his policies.Malkin declared Obama should cut him off.
Powers stated that Obama wasn’t responsible for what other people say adding that he should repudiate the comments but not cut ties. Powers opined that the ” guilt by association” thing is out of control.

Spitzer Scandal Tricky for Parents

By KAREN MATTHEWS – 4 hours ago
NEW YORK (AP) — Gil Rosa’s high school students were young children when Bill Clinton’s trysts with Monica Lewinsky threatened his presidency.
A decade later, the news that Gov. Eliot Spitzer was caught consorting with high-priced hookers left students in his social studies class largely unfazed.
“My kids are desensitized,” said Rosa, who teaches at School Without Walls in Rochester, N.Y. “They’re like, ‘Whatever.’”
Yet for Rosa, and other teachers across the nation, the Spitzer prostitution scandal has been a teachable moment.
“The kids are very opinionated,” he said. “It’s split between the kids saying that he’s being a hypocrite and others who feel that it’s a victimless crime and that we have a lot of other things to worry about.”
Experts say that most teenagers are unlikely to be shocked by the tawdry details of Spitzer’s downfall, but that parents of younger children should tread carefully and wait for the child to broach the subject.
“I would follow their lead and only discuss it if they’re interested,” said Dr. Dominic Ferro, a psychiatrist in Nanuet, N.Y., and past president of the American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry. “And then I think the discussion has to be according to the kid’s developmental age.”

So Why Hasn't Spitzer Resigned Yet?

Yesterday we received word from multiple reliable sources that Spitzer was planning on getting the whole thing over with last night. We weren’t sure, but it sounded like there was to be an evening press conference, during which Spitzer officially resigned and David Paterson was sworn in as governor. But that never came to pass. Now Spitzer has wiped his schedule clean of public events and is hunkered down with advisers. Meanwhile, much of the mainstream media and many political rivals are calling for his head. As the New York Times pointed out, “any politician would have a full-time job just dealing with such revelations.” It seems impossible that Spitzer would be able to continue on as governor (in about 24 hours state Republicans will start impeachment proceedings against him), and yet he hasn’t resigned. What gives? Some theories:
• In preparation for a day in which he may have to face prosecution over his role in the Emperor’s Club prostitution debacle, stepping down from the governorship would be a great trump card. He could use it as a big sacrifice in any deal, saving himself from other punishments like fines, disbarment, or jail time. [National Review]
• He could be destroying documents or evidence, suggests DealBreaker. Though it sounds far-fetched, a private security expert tells them that the reason executives under investigation at big companies are immediately escorted out of the building is so that they can’t do that. “They should have the FBI there right now to prevent Spitzer from deleting his hard-drives,” their source argues. Louisiana Demos Link Spitzer, Vitter and Jindal On Resignation Issue

Randall do you mean those like Bill Clinton? You seem to be forgetting that Vitter has not been accused or charged with a crime. Now I am not naive enough to think that he did not do something but like I said before sleeping with a hooker is one thing. Money laundering and human trafficking another. I did not see this outrage when Bill Clinton was actually caught in the oval office. Or was that because he did not pay for it?
Written by Audraon 3/11/2008
It is apparent that the state of New York has standards that are miles ahead of those of Louisiana. Gov. Spitzer will be forced to do the correct thing and resign or face impeachment by the state legislature. The same standards of basic decency, values, morality, character and obeying the law as opposed to breaking the law are lacking lacking in the United States Senate and in state officials relative to the Vitter whoremongering. It is shameful and pathetic when we hold one of the 100 most powerful people in our govenment to a lower standard than we would hold a local janitor to. New York stepped up to the plate and showed that they stand for something–Louisiana has yet to do the same. Those of Vitter’s dishonorable ilk are disgusting and repugnant!
